Having travelled for most of my life, mostly on the oceans, I then started walking/backpacking all over England and Scotland instead of the seas. I then met my wife who I introduced to the joys of camping in the Pyrenees. The change from 33C during the day to 4C at night was a little bit too much for her to take on our first expedition together and there were a few comments made to say the least!! Never to let a small problem like this overcome me I decided to invest in the luxury of a 1992 VW Westphalia California camper. This was like heaven to me, I parked it where I wished, popped the top, had a brew, cooked under cover and didn't get wet, listened to the radio or watched TV and then could have the comfort of a lovely bed, I didn't have to carry it, it carried me. What Bliss!! Give her her due she really did enjoy it with only one reservation, it didn't have a toilet.

Well, after 4 blissfull years travelling all over Scotland and France I finally succombed to her wishes and bought a 2000 Autotrail 635 in Spain, and yes, it had a toilet, in fact the whole back end was a toilet, shower and washroom. What more could she wish for!!

So this is an account of our meanderings throughout Europe and hopefully further afield in the near future.

Having been an avid reader of other people's stories of their experiences and followed in some of their foorsteps I thought it may be time to put pen to paper and pass on some of our exploits for the benefit of other kindred spirits who are afflicted with the travel bug.
