France 2011

We had decided to spend a couple of weeks in our favourite area of France the Lot & Tarn valleys in August. However because of the purchase of the new motorhome in Spain we had to cut it short.

Our general idea was to head down to Traversay, just off the N10, to stay with some friends for a couple of days, then through the Dordogne and onto Entraygues in the Lot valley for a longer period and returning via Chateauroux, Chartres then back to Calais.

Our friends place in Traversay. (see links) La Berge Ombragee Camping, a little campsite just outside Brivezac close to Beaulieu sur Dordogne situated alongside a lovely river.

View from the bridge of the town of Aurillac On the left just out of sight is the campsite at Entraygues and behind these buildings is the main town square.

We stayed in Entraygues for 3 days then had to set off home.

We set off keeping mainly to the D roads rather than the motorways so we could see a bit more of the countryside. We eventually stopped for the night in the Camping Le Rochat-Belle-Isle right in the middle of Chateauroux in a huge park.

Our lunch stop at Mur de Barrez????? A lovely little village called St Cernin???

Another pretty house in St Cernin. A very nice stop off point called La Baie de Somme beside Abbeville

We stopped at a campsite in Neufchatel en Bray just north of Rouen before heading off to Calais. This lovely campsite has a bar and restaurant in a small garden and the food we had there was really delicious. We will definitely be stopping there again.
